![]() ![]() But I cannot and never want to play a game with it. To use it for the RetroArch menu as well (launch games, etc.), it'd have to be in slot #1. Q5) Furthermore, what is the relationship between controllers and slots? Is it maybe possible to make associations more permanent somehow? I'm generally operating my Shield TV (other apps than RetroArch) entirely with my TV remote. I tried change the menu select (Down) action on my TV remote, so I can at least use it to close RetroArch, but then it would break support for my game controller next time that happened to take slot #1, because it cannot produce the same event that the only action button the remote sends. It seems like the mappings are stored on the slots, not the controllers, but how can that possibly be useful, given the very lax controller/slot associations? Q4) When I change the button mapping, how is this associated with the controller. (Let's say Player 1 and Player 2 have switched controller assignments.) Is there a way to change which controller is assigned to which slot inside RetroArch? The fastest method seems to be to kill the app entirely from the system and start over. Q3) Based on the above, I might learn that the controllers are not assigned to the slots I want them to use for. Is there no way to get a list of all controllers currently active in RetroArch, and which slot they are assigned to? Q2) Now that I've pressed a button on a controller, and my kids pressed some buttons on the controllers they're holding, too. Q1) Is there a way to allow all controllers to control the menu simultaneously, to prevent getting stuck like that? Or switch to another app and back, so that I can re-pick my first slot. That's the only slot which can operate the menu, and my TV remote has no way to select items from the menu (there's no 'Down' button mapped), so I have to kill the RetroArch app via the Android launcher and start over. It's finnicky! If I accidentally press a button on my TV remote first (that's what I use to launch the app with!), then that remote takes slot #1. This slot lists starts from zero every time you load up RetroArch - both on initial launch, as well as when bringing a running instance back from the background. I've so far understood that it's crucial to press buttons on the controllers in the order you want them assigned to slots in RetroArch. If that's something you're interested in. I'm hoping for some answers to my own questions, but I'm also hoping this might be some useful insight into what a 'first user experience' with RetroArch looks like and how it could possibly be improved. the TV's remote via CEC, a USB imitation SNES gamepad, an Xbox Wireless Controller, a Stadia Controller Overview RetroArch Plus for Android, running on an Nvidia Shield TV 2017 on Android TV 11, using a couple of different controllers, e.g. I couldn't really find a Support category on the LibRetro forums, but feel free to send me off if there's a better place for this. The problem I get is that I don't see any button presses on screen.I hope this is the correct place to ask for help & maybe provide UX feedback. I tried to enable it for the PSP Core, and start playing a game with it. Second, is the ability to show button presses on screen, or at least the option for it. Has anyone been able to get something similar to what I want to do to work? Since I use my PS4 controller, I'm like "Why not just map the D-Pad to the Right Analog to have it function like a camera?" Well an hour later and I'm having trouble with either Retroarch freezing up, or the mapping not working properly. While I have no problems with Retroarch as a whole, I just wanted to know two things.įirst is it possible to map the D-Pad to the Right Analog, and have both function properly in game? I'm trying to play "The 3rd Birthday" on PSP, but the camera is mapped to the D-Pad. Right now I am using AutoBleem 1.5.1 with Retroarch. ![]() I had a small but simple question about using Retroarch on the Playstation Classic. ![]()
